Question – Why did you want to tell your epic love story and bring the romance of Ella & Bloom to life?

Catherine: I've always been fascinated about true love, and what it would mean to find the love of my life to live happily ever after. As a child, my early influences were highly shaped from classic romantic movies, such as Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Romeo & Juliet, The Notebook and Titanic. With Ella & Bloom, I wanted to tell the compelling true story of two young lovers, embarking on a journey from Montréal to New York passing through Niagara Falls and London, choosing love against all odds. This romance novel is much more than a modern fairytale, it is an ode to beauty, joy, happiness, truth, and above all, love.

 

Question – In short, why should someone read Ella & Bloom?

 

Catherine: "Ella & Bloom" Novel is a book for women and men who desire more joy and love in their lives. With Ella, we have a wonderful role model for empowering girls to believe in their dreams and to make them a reality. I hope that this book will inspire every girl to choose an extraordinary life and celebrate love every day. In the end, I would love to see more lovers in our world and make love the most important thing that connects us all together.

Question – What was your inspiration for Ella’s character?

​

Catherine: The character of Ella is mainly based on me and inspired by my personal love story. Ella is like a pretty fairy that longs to discover the beauty and wonders of the world. She wants to walk on Rodeo Drive like the stylish Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, visit fancy cafés near Champs-Élysées in Paris, pop champagne on top of the iconic Empire State Building in New York City, visit the timeless Notting Hill in London or sail away from Monaco with the love of her life. Ella is truly the life of the party and likes to dream big! She wants to fall in love and find prince charming who will sweep her off her feet.

Question – Do you have any plans to develop "Ella & Bloom" book into other mediums, like a feature film or TV series?

 

Catherine: Ella & Bloom is a timeless romance book based on real life events, so I believe it is worth sharing this epic love story in a movie and in an exciting TV series. I can also envision Ella & Bloom's romance developing into an enchanting opera and an immersive Broadway musical one day. Sky's the limit!

Question – What are your favourite movies or TV series?

 

Catherine: I love the art, beauty and creativity of Baz Lurhmann. Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby are two of his most dramatic love stories, which transport viewers into another realm. His movies also display fabulous set design, enchanting decor and musical masterpieces. I can see myself working with him one day on Ella & Bloom's movie set.

Question – What are your favourite cuisines?

​

Catherine: I could eat Japanese every day; nothing beats a good sushi roll and tuna sashimi! I also like oysters and champagne, they are the best way to celebrate with style!
